The Dance Matrix
Competitive and Performing Group Programs
We have several different options for students who would like to participate in a competitive performance group - these programs are by audition or evaluation. They include mandatory technique classes and require an attendance commitment as some of the routines from these groups will be entered into one or more dance festivals/competitions. They include a set fee 6 hours of dance per week. Dancers interested in exploring their readiness for one of our competitive/performing group programs should consider attending one of our annual technical and audition camps held in August each year.
The Dance Matrix has 3 performing levels:
Junior, intermediate and senior performance teams - intermediate and senior teams require a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week, junior team requires a minimum commitment of 3.5 hours per week.
The main focus of our performing group teams is about becoming all around performers. Dancers on these teams receive training in four core areas: Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Acro dance.
Many of these students choose to participate in a variety of recreational classes in genres of dance not included in the main program. We offer these classes to our performing group students at reduced rates. The choice to do this is optional and is not a requirement of our performing group programs.
Costs for Performing Group Programs:
Set fee for 3.5 and 6 hour programs.
Specific costume fee that covers all costume pieces.
